The Civil Guard of Cadiz has rescued a raccoon (Procyon Lotor) that was found abandoned on a property in Chiclana de la Frontera. This incident occurred thanks to the alert of an anonymous citizen, which allowed the animal, in perfect health, to be transferred to the Zoo de Castellar de la Frontera, where it will receive the necessary care and maintenance.

The alert was received on the 19th, around 9:30 a.m., when the Complex Operative Center of the Civil Guard Command of Cadiz was informed by an anonymous citizen about the presence of a raccoon under a mobile home located on a property in Chiclana. The Nature Protection Patrol (PAPRONA) of Chiclana was immediately mobilized to the scene, where it was able to verify that it was indeed a raccoon, which could have escaped from a home, despite its possession being prohibited as it is considered a non-native and invasive species.

After confirming the good health of the animal, the necessary arrangements were made for its transfer to the Zoo de Castellar de la Frontera, which will take care of it.
