A motorist was left fuming after two drivers ignored a no right turn sign and almost caused a head-on collision in Kirknewton, Scotland.

Dashcam footage shows the motorist heading to a junction when a vehicle turned right and started driving on the wrong side of the road.

"The junction is clearly signed as 'no right turn' westbound on the A71 as the road only has a slip road for eastbound traffic," said the filmer.

They added: "As the car swiftly moved into the left lane to avoid colliding with me, another car can be seen looking to perform the exact same manoeuvre, but quickly realised my presence and drove over to the slip road entrance.

"As I turned right onto the A71, a third car then proceeded to also turn right at the junction!

"In all the years living in East Calder, I have never seen anyone turn right at that junction, but to see 3 cars, one after the other do the same move, would indicate that the three cars were in tandem. Unbelievable!"

I was driving to work around 08:35 am on the 6th Mar 2024, up the B7031 at East Calder, towards the A71. As I got to the junction between the two roads, an electric Mini which was travelling West bound along the A71 turned right into my lane, heading straight towards me. The junction is clearly signed as "No right turn" West bound on the A71 as the road only has a slip road for East bound traffic.
