STORYLINE:

Nigeria late Wednesday clinched the gold medal in the men's 4x100m relay at the 13th African Games in Accra, the capital of Ghana.
   
The Nigerian quartet finished the race in 38.41 seconds to snatch the gold from Ghana, who won it in Morocco in 2019.
   
Ghana came in second with a time of 38.43 seconds to receive the silver, as fellow West African country Liberia grabbed bronze, finishing in 38.73 seconds.

"It feels good because I was in the same position last five years and Joseph (Paul Amoah of Ghana) ran ahead of me, and this year I was not going to let it happen. I was not going to give up this year, to happen twice in a row, not to me and not to me again. I just wanted to beat them."
   
On the same night, the Nigerian female quartet also picked up the gold medal in the women's 4x100 meters relay at the same venue.
