Chinese company Sunda International Group on Thursday expanded its operations in Kenya with a ground breaking ceremony for a new factory that will help to triple its production of personal and sanitary products in the East African country.
Kenya's First Lady Rachel Ruto attended the ceremony.

The company, which operates the "Softcare" diaper brand, has been in the Kenyan market for 15 years.
The expansion is expected to increase job opportunities and embrace sustainable production practices.

"Softcare Kenya has become one of the largest manufacturers in sanitary products in Kenya. And at present, Softcare has directly created about 1,500 jobs for the staff and 95 percent of them are local Kenyans.
