On March 25, the local weather bureau issued a red alert - the highest in its colour-coded alert system - for thunderstorms and gales; in the afternoon, sudden hailstones arrived in parts of eastern China, which led to people injured and massive vehicles damaged.

Video filmed in Yiwu, Jinhua, Zhejiang shows the hailstones clobbering a citizen’s vehicle, whose windshield and bonnet were found damaged after the hailstones paused.

Fortunately, car insurance comes into force, allowing its owner, as well as the filmer, to recover some of his losses.

Because of the severe damage to plenty of cars, it is estimated that the insurance industry will pay more than 100 million yuan to the car owners involved in this incident, according to local reports.
