This is the heartstopping moment a driver left a car park, seconds before a tree crashed to the ground.

Shocking CCTV footage shows a black sedan pulling out of a parking space as the large tree was uprooted by strong wind and heavy rain in Guangdong, China.

The driver was seen navigating toward the exit when the massive trunk came crashing down, slamming into several parked cars, just yards from the moving vehicle on June 15.

Four vehicles were heavily damaged by the impact, while the driver narrowly avoided the accident.

The region's eastern rainy season typically begins in April and peaks in July and August.
