A dramatic scene unfolded in Kinney County as a human smuggler led DPS Troopers on a high-speed pursuit, reaching speeds of up to 100 mph, before the vehicle erupted into flames. The incident, which culminated in a daring escape attempt, resulted in the apprehension of two illegal immigrants and the arrest of the driver and passenger.

The pursuit began when DPS Troopers spotted a Toyota Camry driven by a human smuggler, careening through Kinney County at dangerously high speeds. Ignoring commands to pull over, the driver continued to evade authorities, pushing the vehicle to its limits in a desperate attempt to flee.

As the pursuit escalated, reaching speeds of 100 mph, the situation took a dramatic turn when the vehicle suddenly caught fire, forcing the driver and passenger to abandon their efforts to evade capture. Two illegal immigrants, realizing the gravity of the situation, bailed out of the vehicle and fled into the nearby brush, hoping to evade authorities.

However, their escape was short-lived, as law enforcement swiftly apprehended them, bringing an end to their reckless flight. Both individuals, identified as illegal immigrants from Venezuela residing in Austin, now face charges of evading arrest and smuggling of persons.
