In the ongoing efforts to restore normalcy following the recent bridge collapse incident near the Key Bridge in Baltimore, Unified Command crews have been diligently working to clear debris obstructing the Patapsco River channel.

Crew members from the Unified Command have been actively engaged in the removal of debris from the channel near the Key Bridge Response area. This strategic initiative is part of a phased approach aimed at reopening the main channel to marine traffic.

In a significant milestone, the tugboat Crystal Coast successfully navigated through a temporary alternate channel established by the Unified Command near the Key Bridge incident site. Accompanied by a fuel barge, the Crystal Coast marks the first vessel to utilize the channel since the unfortunate bridge collapse occurred on March 26th.

The successful passage of the Crystal Coast through the temporary channel underscores the progress made by the Unified Command in swiftly addressing the logistical challenges posed by the bridge collapse. As the cleanup and recovery operations continue, the Unified Command remains steadfast in their commitment to restoring the affected waterway to full functionality, ensuring the safe passage of maritime traffic in the region.
