Children were trapped under a large bouncy castle that collapsed and overturned due to sudden strong winds.

Parents had taken their children for a fun Sunday afternoon at the park and many had been playing in the inflatable castle at the Feidongziyang Happy World amusement park in Hefei, in Anhui, China, on March 31.

But the day out quickly turned into a nightmare as a strong wind knocked over the castle and children were stuck inside screaming.

Phone footage shows parents rushing over to help free them before any of them accidentally suffocate under that massive inflated structure.

Some toddlers barely held back tears as they were taken out to safety.

Staff from Feidongziyang Happy World responded to the incident on April 1, saying: 'There was an overload trip. Today, the inflatable castle has been removed, and the equipment is temporarily under maintenance.

'The children who were trapped have been taken to the hospital for examination, and they are fine.'
