This is the amusing moment a crocodile wandered out of a pond and stopped for a rest in front of a camera.

Footage shows the reptile ambling toward the pavement before plopping down with its mouth agape at the Bueng Boraphet Non-Hunting Area in Nakhon Sawan, Thailand, on March 26.

Bueng Boraphet is the largest freshwater lake in central Thailand, spanning around 224 square kilometres.

It is located east of Nakhon Sawan, near the confluence of the Nan and Ping Rivers.

The lake was originally a swamp, but was flooded through a dam in 1930 to improve fishing.

A portion of the lake was declared a non-hunting area in 1975, and is home to more than 200 species of flora and fauna.
