Sad bird refuses to leave after companion knocked dead by car
On May 1st, in Yixing, southern China, a heartwarming scene unfolded as a family embarked on a journey and encountered a small bird standing in the middle of the road. Despite the traffic passing by, the bird remained unmoved. Nearby lay another bird, tragically killed by passing vehicles.
Concerned for safety, a father and his daughter carefully moved the live bird and its deceased companion to the roadside. Surprisingly, the live bird didn't fly away despite the human presence but instead continued to stare at its fallen comrade, mouth open and eyes squinting as if in tears.
According to eyewitnesses, the daughter, deeply worried about the bird, continuously tried to comfort it by offering twigs. Seeing the bird's reluctance to leave, the daughter dug a small hole by the roadside, covered it with leaves, and buried the deceased bird. After some time, the surviving bird regained its composure and eventually flew to a nearby branch not far from its deceased companion.
