A video from May 2nd, 2024, recorded in Laibin, Guangxi, southern China, captures a mischievous mouse first stepping onto a stool, then climbing onto a dining table under surveillance.

After fumbling around on the table with leftovers, the mouse inadvertently turns on an induction cooker. Smoke soon billows from the cooker, almost leading to a fire disaster in the room.

According to the owner of the store in the video, Mr. Tan, it was thought that the accident was caused by a self-activated induction cooker, only to find out that it was the work of a rat after they checking the surveillance. Luckily, some employees who came earlier noticed the incident and turned off the power in time to avoid the fire.

The store owner also said that normally there would not be rats in the store, and they found out after checking that the rats had bitten a hole in the ceiling to come in.
