Two suns appeared simultaneously in the sky of a city in eastern China.

The rare footage was filmed in Fuyang City in Anhui Province on May 19.

According to the local meteorological observatory, the phenomenon, known as a sundog, is a series of intricate optical illusions where reflected and refracted light rays converge at certain angles, intensifying brightness and creating the illusion of two suns.

A spectacular phenomenon called Sundogs was spotted by a photographer in Yingshang County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province on May 19, 2024.

Video filmed at nearly 7.p.m shows a luminous body on the right, shining alongside the sun on the left.

According to the Fuyang Meteorological Observatory, this is a phenomenon known as a sundog.

Sundogs are a series of complex optical phenomena where reflected and refracted light rays can appear particularly bright due to their reinforcement at certain angles, resulting in the appearance of two virtual images of the sun.
