A rare sundog phenomenon with "five suns" appeared in the sky in northern China.

Incredible video filmed in the city of Tieling in Liaoning Province on January 25 shows five suns seen in a circle and an upside-down rainbow in the middle of the sky.

According to reports, the sundog, sun halo and circumzenithal arc phenomenons appeared above the city simultaneously.

The sundog phenomenon is caused by sunlight being refracted through ice crystals.

1月25日上午，辽宁铁岭市昌图、开原、西丰等部分地区上空日晕、幻日、环天顶弧同时出现，蔚为壮观。
日晕是一种大气现象。它形成的原因是在5000米的高空中出现了由冰晶构成的卷层云，卷层云中的冰晶经过太阳照射后会发生折射和反射等物理变化，阳光便分解成了红、黄、绿、紫等多种颜色，这样太阳周围就出现一个巨大的彩色光环，称为晕。
幻日（sundogs）是大气的一种光学现象。幻日是片状冰晶所形成的。 在天空中分布着大量微小的六角冰晶，在一定条件下，受日光照射就会发生折射现象 。“22度幻日”，是由于大气中存在以六边形为主的冰晶，太阳光通过冰晶时发生折射造成的。除了“22度幻日”，还有一些其它度数的幻日，比如5个“太阳”在同一水平线上的“44度幻日”，这种现象更为罕见。
环天顶弧（英语：circumzenithal arc或circumzenith arc，缩写：CZA）或称布拉维弧（Bravais' arc），是一种在外观上类似彩虹的光学现象；但它的形成是太阳光从水平方向通过冰晶（一般位于卷云内）后折射而形成，而非雨滴。一般称之为“倒挂彩虹”或“天空的微笑”。
