High-rise cleaners in China brave powerful winds, swinging mid-air
High-rise cleaners braved powerful winds, swinging mid-air in eastern China.
The dramatic video was filmed in Beijing on May 30. The cleaners were forced to make a descent from the CCTV Headquarters amidst roaring winds.
A staffer from the CCTV Administrative Support Centre revealed that maintenance workers were cleaning the exterior walls when the incident occurred. Annual cleaning of the glass exterior walls is routine, and all workers safely returned to the ground.
The Beijing Meteorological Observatory issued a blue wind warning (the least severe level) at 14:10 on May 30th.
