The first edition of the Cacao & Coffee Festival concluded on Friday in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon.

SOUNDBITE 1 (French): MARTIN KAMDJEU, Cameroonian cacao producer
"With the suffering we endure every day, these prices have come at the right time to boost the producer, who has once again realized that he hadn't chosen the wrong business. With this year's prices, I've taken steps to build a hut in town so that I can re-home my children. And I've bought modern equipment to work in the field. I can sincerely tell you that with these prices, many young people are returning to the village."
SOUNDBITE 2 (French): KONE NAGNINA KASSEM, Processor from Cote d'Ivoire
"I take products from the field or cooperatives, and I process them. The producers I work with, I give them a small amount at the beginning of the season, to enable them to produce in the best conditions. And then they send me the quality products."
Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Yaounde.
