USA: Elderly Woman and Cats Saved From Burning Unit in North Hollywood

The Los Angeles Police Department called for assistance from the Los Angeles Fire Department for a burning unit located in the 5900 block of Tujunga Avenue. Upon arrival of LAPD officers observed black smoke and fire coming from the unit. Officers used forced entry to open the door to remove one of the residents of the home. According to witnesses on scene, the cats are from the burning unit. An elderly woman was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.
