The elderly sister stood on the extremely narrow windowsill edge, clinging to the rails and hugging the younger child tightly as the thick smoke billowed from the house just a step behind them.

The firefighters stood on the balcony of the floor below, leaning out to comfort the startled sisters.

With reassurance from the firefighters, the older sister cooperated with their instructions and lowered her younger sister down first and she was also saved later.
