Shocking footage surfaced overnight depicting Surrey Police using a patrol car to intentionally strike a defenseless calf, later named Beau, that had escaped onto streets in West London. The incident, which has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for justice, has ignited a passionate plea from Animal Rising for Beau to be relocated to safety at a sanctuary away from the dangers of the farming industry.

Animal Rising, a prominent advocate for animal welfare and ecological sustainability, swiftly launched a petition urging the public to support Beau's relocation to their prepared sanctuary space. The group has underscored the urgency of ensuring Beau's well-being and has criticized Surrey Police for what they describe as "inexcusable violence."

Dan Kidby, Co-Founder and Co-Director of Animal Rising, expressed outrage over the incident: "The disturbing video of Surrey Police striking Beau not once, but twice, has deeply shocked the nation. There is no justification for such treatment of any animal. We demand that Beau be moved to sanctuary immediately, where she can live out her life peacefully, free from the threat of slaughter."

The outcry has been immense, with over 15,000 signatures amassed on the petition within a mere two days, highlighting widespread public support for Beau's relocation. Animal Rising has secured sanctuary space with ample land and companionship for Beau, emphasizing the stark contrast between a life in sanctuary and an eventual fate in the farming industry.

Ben Newman, Co-Director of Animal Rising, emphasized the public's desire for justice: "The overwhelming response to Beau's plight underscores our nation's compassion. Beau deserves a chance at a happy life, which cannot be realized if she remains in the farming system. We urge all stakeholders, including the farmers and authorities involved, to prioritize Beau's well-being and facilitate her move to sanctuary."

Prominent figures, including Home Secretary James Cleverly and environmentalist Chris Packham, have joined the chorus of voices demanding justice for Beau, underscoring the broader societal concern over animal welfare and ethical treatment.

As the petition continues to gain momentum, Animal Rising remains steadfast in their mission to advocate for a more humane and sustainable approach to our relationship with animals, advocating for a transition to plant-based food systems and ecological conservation efforts.

The fate of Beau the calf has ignited a national conversation about animal rights and the responsibilities of law enforcement, urging a critical reassessment of policies and practices affecting animal welfare in the UK.
