India: Fire breaks out in two train coaches near railway station
Hyderabad, Telangana, India - June 20, 2024
Two coaches of a parked train at a railway station in southern India’s Telangana caught fire, leading to a swift response from fire personnel and railway authorities.
The incident took place at Alugadda Bavi tracks near Secunderabad railway station in Hyderabad district on June 20.
Visuals showed inside a train, flames were raging, their glow visible through the windows, while thick smoke billowed out into the open air around the train. The scene was chaotic yet bustling with activity as a team of police, firefighters, and locals converged to extinguish the fire. The atmosphere was tense, with people hurriedly moving about, some directing hoses towards the flames, others assisting in any way they could. Amidst the urgency, a sense of concern and determination filled the air, as everyone worked together to bring the situation under control.
The incident occurred when smoke was observed emanating from the bogies of spare coaches parked along the tracks. Shortly thereafter, flames engulfed both coaches, prompting immediate action from the Secunderabad fire station and railway authorities. Firefighters swiftly arrived at the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze before it could cause further damage.
The precise cause of the fire has yet to be determined, as investigations are currently underway. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or casualties resulting from the incident. Railway operations in the vicinity were temporarily affected due to the emergency response efforts but have since resumed normalcy.
Authorities are continuing their efforts to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the fire and ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
