Venezuela: President of Venezuelan Parliament criticises 'robbery' of Pdvsa's US subsidiary Citgo
Caracas, Capital District, Venezuela - June 18, 2024

Jorge Rodriguez, president of the National Assembly 2020, admitted the loss of Pdvsa's subsidiary in the United States, Citgo, by pointing out that it has already been auctioned in that country by a court decision.
During statements in the legislative Parliament, Rodriguez explained that a court in the city of Delaware carried out the auction "in secret", pointing out that it was a judicial act contrary to law.
"The Delaware court held the auction in secret, it was an agreement to tear Citgo apart and hand it over so as not to harm them electorally. Let (Julio) Borges deny me, the agreement is to sell Citgo after the elections, but the court has already accepted the offer, the auction has already taken place, at a derisory price because those assets cost 21 billion dollars," said Rodriguez.
He also blamed former prosecutor Jose Ignacio Hernandez, and the president of the ad hoc board of PDVSA, Horacio Medina, both appointed under the interim government of Juan Guaido, for Citgo's current situation.
Rodriguez condemned the court's exclusion of Nicolas Maduro's administration from the judicial sale.

"A vulgar robbery by those who call themselves defenders of the market economy, defenders of free trade. They simply set up a hoax, on top of another hoax, on top of another hoax, to get hold of the main asset of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela abroad, the Citgo refinery system".
