Venezuela: Venezuela honors China’s WWII victory with monument of unity
Venezuela unveiled a memorial plaza and monument in Caracas on Wednesday, commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, with President Nicolas Maduro and Chinese Ambassador to the country Lan Hu in attendance. Names of China's 34 provincial-level regions encircle the monument, forming a powerful emblem of Venezuela's enduring solidarity with the Chinese people. In his address, President Maduro expressed deep gratitude for China's pivotal role in securing victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. Later that evening, the Chinese Embassy in Venezuela hosted a commemorative reception, honoring the occasion. In an exclusive interview with China Media Group (CMG), Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez praised China's commemorative event, calling President Xi Jinping's speech "inspiring" and underscoring the event's profound relevance amid the turbulent global landscape. She also hailed the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi at the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus" Meeting in Tianjin on Monday, saying that the initiative is of great meaning to the world's development.
