STORYLINE:
Moroccan King Mohammed VI has given order on Monday to send humanitarian medical aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
According to a press release from the Moroccan Foreign Ministry, the aid consists of 40 tonnes of medical supplies, containing equipment for treating burns and emergencies as well as essential medicines.
The Moroccan aid will be transported via the same land route used for the food aid sent in March, during which Morocco delivered over 40 tonnes of food, it said.
Regarding the current situation in Gaza, the Moroccan Foreign Ministry earlier issued a statement calling for the protection of innocent civilians and the smooth flow of humanitarian aid.
