A strange light seen flashing in the night sky that sparked alien fears turned out to be a plane flying through dense clouds.

Footage shows the beam coming from a disc-shaped UFO that blinked on the side as seen from Prachin Wanarom Public Park in Prachinburi province, Thailand, on June 25.

Uthaiwadi Trakarncharoensuk, 67, a local politician, said she was playing badminton with family when she saw it and firmly believed it was extraterrestrial.

He said: ‘I have seen the same light around ten times at the same place. It was the first time this year.

‘I wholeheartedly believe it was aliens and might be absorbing energy from the park, as the fish in the pond danced and jumped when the light was seen.'

However, professor Jessada Denduangboripant from the Department of Biological Science at Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Science said it resembled a plane flying through dense clouds.

The professor said: ‘Its light disseminated although the blinking lights from the wings were clear.'

The glowing lights were seen in the area between the small airfield of King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, Prachin Buri Campus, and Kabinburi Airport.
