Moment yaks go head-to-head in traffic-stopping duel
This is the moment two yaks in China hold up traffic as they go head-to-head in a brutal battle for dominance, causing one woman to let out panicked squeals as they come dangerously close to damaging the car in which she was travelling.
The incident took place in Ganzi, in Sichuan in south-western China, on July 9.
The video, filmed from one of the vehicles that was brought to a stop by the battling animals, shows them battling each other in the middle of the road.
One of the yaks, with large horns, appeared to be 'winning' the confrontation, while the other yak, which did not appear to have horns, tried to fight back.
A juvenile yak can be seen at the beginning of the footage, although it appears to get out of the way as the battle escalates quickly.
Eventually, the pair of dwelling animals come dangerously close to hitting the vehicle from which the footage was being filmed, with a woman inside it heard screaming in fright.
However, it appears that no damage occurred as the yaks moved to the side and continued to fight as the footage ended.
Local media reported that they later ran off and did not affect traffic. It is unclear if they had escaped from a nearby farm.
