Dozens of bees form chain hanging from light
Dozens of honey bees formed a chain hanging from a light inside a resident's home.
Footage shows the insects clinging to each other to form the 12-inch chain that dangled from the ceiling fixture in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 8.
Resident Sutthawan Suttha said the bugs entered their house, and they were baffled by what the bees were doing.
She said: ‘The bees entered the room, I don't know what they were trying to do.'
Honey bees form chains, known as festooning, to help build and repair the hive by measuring distances and ensuring accurate comb construction. This behaviour also stabilizes them during wax production and facilitates coordination and communication among bees.
