Gaza Strip - Recent

Healthcare workers in the Gaza Strip, facing a scarcity of proper medical supplies, are creating makeshift prosthetic limbs for amputees who have lost limbs in the ongoing Israeli onslaught on Gaza which has led to a significant increase in amputations.

Like thousands of other Palestinian amputees, Omar Al-Haddad, who lost his foot in an Israeli airstrike, has struggled to find medical help with many of Gaza's hospitals out of service.

With proper medical supplies in short supply, Palestinian healthcare workers here are forced to create prosthetic limbs using scrap wood, sponge, and plastic.

Hospitals in the Gaza Strip are grappling with a severe shortage of medical supplies, with doctors saying they are having to perform amputations that might previously have been avoided.
