Patients in northern Gaza Strip are facing a dire situation as the Israeli forces began targeting hospitals in the region.

Medical staff and patients left Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza after Israeli missiles struck its emergency department.

Hassan Helweh, head of the Kidney Department of the hospital, said the specter of bombing grips the patients in the hospital.

"As the siege continues in northern Gaza, it is very difficult for kidney patients to come to hospital due to the bombing by Israeli aircraft and the bombing of the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital with artillery shells. Therefore, terror grips the patients and they are unable to reach the hospital to receive their treatment. We appeal to all international institutions to intervene because this department is the only point to treat kidney patients in northern Gaza," he said.

Soha Al-Batran, a kidney patient at the hospital, said the worsening situation is making her more tired.

"I'm a kidney patient. I came to the hospital to undergo dialysis. For more than 15 days, I was not able to reach the hospital due to the difficulty of the road here. As I live in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City and there is danger along my way to the hospital, this makes me more tired," she said.
