Historic Bibi ka Alam procession passed off peacefully which was taken out in the old city of Hyderabad in a traditional manner. Thousands of people participated in the procession which passed through various parts of the old city before concluding at Chaderghat on the banks of the Musi river.

The Ashura-e-Muharram is being observed with due reverence and solemnity in various parts of Telangana, especially in Hyderabad on Tuesday, marking the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions. Their martyrdom is remembered for upholding righteousness and justice in Karbala for centuries. Amidst tight security arrangements, the traditional processions taken out at different parts of the Twin Cities of Secunderabad and Hyderabad culminated later in the afternoon.

Hyderabad police made elaborate security arrangements for the Bibi ka Alam procession. Traffic was diverted at a few points for the annual procession.
