Incessant rainfall for over 24 hours has triggered severe waterlogging and flood-like conditions in Pushkar, Ajmer, with water entering more than 1,000 homes and several hotels. Rainwater cascading from the Aravalli hills continues to accumulate in the town, leading to widespread disruption and ongoing rescue operations.

On 18 July 2025, exactly 50 years after Ajmer’s worst flood in 1975, the city found itself underwater once again. In just 19 days of July, Ajmer received 609 mm of rain—more than its entire average for the monsoon season. Roads, homes, hospitals, and colonies were flooded. Over 20 areas are submerged.

More than 20 colonies in Ajmer are flooded. People are facing shortages of milk, drinking water, and essential items. Streets and homes have knee-deep water. Many residents had to leave their homes. Heavy rainfall across Rajasthan has led to multiple tragedies in the past 24 hours, with six reported deaths.
