Golfers rescue seagull tangled in a net
Golfers interrupted their round to rescue a seagull caught and wrapped up in a net.
Callum Quinn, 29, and his friends Lewis Craytan, Jamie Taylor and Gary Bone were walking up to their tee in Kirkentilloch Golf Club when they spotted the bird.
When they approached it, they noticed that the bird's neck, beak and wings were completely tangled in a white net.
Video shows Callum holding the bird with a towel and Lewis cutting the net which was wrapped around the poor seagull.
Once the bird was free, the group fed it half of a Greggs steak bake and sent it on its merry way.
Callum, from Ayrshire, Scotland, said: "The bird clearly couldn't really move, eat or fly."
"We could hardly just leave it like that especially after seeing it struggle."
"The bird just seemed really tired and didn't have the energy to fly right away."
"We had a Greggs steak bake in our bag so we gave it half of that."
"It made quick work of that back I'll tell you that."
It is not certain how the bird got tangled up or even exactly what it got tangled up in but Callum says it looked like a football net.
He said: "The best way I can describe it is it looked like a football net."
"It couldn't even stretch out its wings."
"We were just lucky we happened to have the knife to hand so we could actually help."
Callum and his friends are often out on the gold course together, which can be seen on his YouTube channel, @fatgolf8188.
