This is the hilarious moment a youngster's first golf lesson went wrong when he accidentally let go of his club.

Philip Andrei Carlos was trying to learn the sport with friends when he accidentally hurled the club into the air at BASA Airbase Golf Course in Pampanga, Philippines.

Footage shows the novice striking the ball successfully, but the club slipped from his hands on November 6.

The golf club can be seen soaring through the air, prompting the startled youngster to lunge forward in an attempt to catch it.

However, he soon stopped and burst into giggles at the comical mishap.

Philip said: 'It was my first time playing, and I didn't realise the club would feel so heavy when swung hard, that's why it went flying.

'After that, I practised even more to perfect my swing without letting go. It was a fun and memorable experience, and we all laughed so much when everyone saw what happened.'
