Earthquake of magnitude 7.1 hits southern Japan, tsunami warning issued , Japanese high-speed rail stops

A powerful earthquake measuring magnitude 7.1 struck the island of Kyushu in southern Japan on Thursday. Japanese public broadcaster NHK had earlier reported the quake's preliminary magnitude as 6.9. The earthquakes also triggered a tsunami, which has reached the western Miyazaki prefecture, according to NHK.

@TaichiHoshi tells the video was filmed by me near Nagahama City, Japan. I was onboard the Toukaido Shinkansen HIKARI 647 Superexpress and the train initiated emergency stop followed by power-cut due to an earthquake that happened today near Kyushu Japan at 1542 local time.
