STORYLINE:
The 2024 Bregenz Festival, a leading performing arts festival, is being held from July 17 to August 18 in the western Austrian city of Bregenz, attracting dignitaries and tourists from around the world.
This year's festival features more than 80 events, including operas and orchestral concerts, according to the organizers.
A highlight of this year's festival is the opera "The Freeshooter," which is shown on the water stage of Lake Bodensee and attracts an audience of around 7,000 in every performance.
Hans-Peter Metzler, president of the festival, said that the festival offers a solution to problems of the current time: "to play music louder and more beautiful than ever before" as they are a powerful force for change and hope.
