USA: Beverly Hills Burglary Suspect High Speed Pursuit Perimeter
Los Angeles, United States - August 14, 2024
08/14/2024 02:55 am (GMT-0700) | Beverly Hills – A high-speed pursuit of burglary suspects from Beverly Hills terminated near the intersection of East Imperial Highway and Wilmington Avenue this morning. Beverly Hills PD initiated pursuit of the suspects after a reported burglary around 2:45 a.m. in the 9700 block of Wilshire Boulevard in the city of Beverly Hills. According to a news release by the BHPD, the suspects fled in a stolen Dodge Durango as officer arrived at the location. An LAPD Airship was able to track the vehicle and request LAPD units to assist with the pursuit as they traveled through Downtown Los Angeles. Due to high speeds and reckless driving without lights, officers chose to transition into tracking mode. The suspects stopped under Imperial Highway and ran into a two-story yellow residential building just east of Wilmington. Four suspects were seen fleeing the vehicle and into the neighborhood North of Imperial Highway. One suspect was taken into custody immediately, with three outstanding. Officers set up a perimeter in the area and established a command post nearby. Information gathered at scene suggests that Beverly Hills PD made contact with the victim of the burglary, and chose not to press charges or pursue the suspects as nothing was taken, however, that information has not been confirmed by the BHPD at this time. LAPD continued their perimeter in attempts to locate the suspects. The perimeter was still ongoing as of the time of this writing. Additional information suggests that the vehicle used by the suspects was stolen a few days ago in LAPD's Topanga Division.
The BHPD said the exact loss at the pharmacy is still under investigation. The department also announced the arrest of Sergio Giobanni Estrada Ochoa, an 18-year-old from Los Angeles, who was booked for commercial burglary.
The BHPD urges anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Detective Bureau at (310) 285-2150.
