Chinese child climbs utility pole to evade scolding
On August 18, 2024, a tense moment unfolded in Mianyang, Sichuan province, southwestern China, when a child, after upsetting an adult, escaped punishment by agilely climbing a utility pole.
The incident took place on a busy street, drawing the attention of onlookers as the child, demonstrating remarkable agility reminiscent of a monkey, ascended several meters above the ground.
The adult below alternated between coaxing the child down and reprimanding him, which only heightened the child's emotions and spurred him to climb higher.
