Customer attacks flower shop visitor with hammer after refusal to shake hands in Novosibirsk
On August 16, 2024, in Novosibirsk, Russia, a man armed with a hammer and a knife attacked a flower shop visitor after the latter refused to shake his hand. The incident occurred when the victim, a local resident meeting his girlfriend at the shop, declined the handshake offered by a regular customer. Enraged, the attacker used the hammer to strike the victim multiple times, hitting him eight times on the spine and side and four times on the left hand. After an employee managed to disarm the attacker, he fled the scene. The victim sought medical treatment and reported the assault to the police.
