The 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) is underway in the city of Xiamen, east China's Fujian Province.

As the guest country of honor, Hungary opened its national pavilion at this year's CIFIT.

Hungarian government officials said that they are looking forward to expanding cooperation with China in more industrial fields.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): DAVID VARGA-SABJAN, Head of China Office, Hungarian Federation of Winecraftsmen
"You will see the wines of Hungary introduced. In Hungarian culture, wine is very important. The Chinese customers really like the Hungarian wine because Hungarian wine is special. To find cooperation in Xiamen, we understand that the port of Xiamen is one of the biggest ports to import wine to China. So we're looking forward to starting cooperation with Xiamen companies to import more Hungarian wine to the country."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): ALMASI MARTINA, Director of Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency
"So our aim at this conference or exhibition is that we would meet more Chinese companies who are interested to come to Hungary and make some business or even investments into our country. And we would like to also invite other industries as well. So not only battery, automotive, but Hungary is very strong traditionally in pharmaceutical, chemical industry, IT and services. So we are very much pleased and open to make cooperation with such companies."

Covering around 120,000 square meters, the four-day event draws visitors from 119 countries and regions, of which about 80 percent are Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partner countries.

The fair is expected to serve as a platform for more than 80 investment events and roadshow activities.
