US: Santa Clarita Apartment Burns Displacing Families Several Dogs Rescued

09/24/2024 07:19 pm (GMT-0700) | SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A fire broke out inside an apartment building within the city of Santa Clarita's Canyon Country neighborhood early Tuesday night.
The blaze, dubbed the "Flo Incident," was first reported to 911 operators as a structure fire in the 26900 block of Flo Lane at 7:19 p.m.
Los Angeles County Fire Department crews initiated a first alarm response and arrived at the scene moments later. The first-in firefighting unit reported heavy smoke and fire showing from a two-story apartment building, prompting crews to initiate a fire attack.
Several people were displaced, including children clutching stuffed animals and several dogs. The cause of the fire remains under investigation as of 8:30 p.m.
