Jingyuan County in northwest China's Gansu Province has been making efforts to protect ancient rock paintings.
Wu Guanfeng, 54, is one of the 85 volunteer protectors of rock paintings in the county.

"As a volunteer protector of the rock paintings, I come here weekly to check these paintings. I hope that the Wujiachuan rock paintings will be well protected so that our future generations can appreciate these paintings forever. "
So far, nine ancient rock painting sites have been discovered in Jingyuan County.
