Russian entrepreneur Evgeny Chichvarkin was caught using a phone whilst driving through Kensington, London, by a cyclist.

The businessman who founded Russia's largest mobile phone retailer, Euroset, is seen on his phone whilst driving along Old Brompton Road.

"Never meet your heroes. It was a shocker to see a famous restaurateur, businessman and philanthropist Evgeny Chichvarkin driving while using his mobile phone," said the filmer who goes by @phonekills on X.

They added: "He might not be aware that even when stopped, such behaviour is not only illegal, but also reduced the spatial awareness. That's why so many police officers I met told the stories of pedestrians and cyclists being hit on the crossings, exactly after driver scrolling the phone at the lights.

"I have met Chichvarkin in the past, mostly on events in support of political refugees and against the war. I highly respect his work as a business man, politician and activist. I strongly recommend supporting his charity collections for victims of war in Ukraine. And I hope he changed his driving behaviour moving forwards."

It was a November 13th 2023 on Old Brompton Road in Kensington and Chelsea. Dark, wet surface. The driver wasn't aware of my presence at first, even if my reflection is clearly visible in his window.
