This is the moment when lucky girls avoid being hit by a car crashing onto the pavement just a centimetre away from them.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Antikainena and Narodnaya streets in Kostomuksha, Republic of Karelia, Russia, on 28th September.
Surveillance camera footage shows people on the sidewalk and a large intersection with several cars.

Two girls approach a crosswalk while a white Kia car starts to turn left.
Suddenly, a fast-moving dark Ford car at full speed crashes into Kia, causing it to literally fly towards the sidewalk where the two girls are standing.

The girls see a car rushing towards them and take a few steps back, which saves their lives.

The Kia knocked down the road sign and remained on the sidewalk while the Ford car stopped in the middle of the road amid its wreckage.
The frightened girls, meanwhile, can be seen holding each other on the sidewalk.

There is no information about the injury done to the people in the cars.
