This is the terrifying moment a leopard jumped up to a window to try and climb inside a safari bus in India.

Footage shows the curious wild cat attempting to feast on worried passengers sitting inside the vehicle at Bannerghatta National Park in Bangalore.

Tourists on board can be heard shouting in fear during the sudden close encounter with the killer feline.

Authorities said the bus had stopped to give passengers a closer view of the animals while on a routine safari when the leopard unexpectedly appeared. The mesh windows ensured the safety of the tourists, preventing any injuries during the encounter.

The driver then manoeuvred the vehicle, prompting the large cat to retreat to its natural habitat.
