STORYLINE:
The 23rd edition of the Amman International Book Fair kicked off in the Jordanian capital Amman on Thursday.
The 10-day book fair attracts around 400 local and international publishing houses from 20 countries and regions.
The event is co-organized by the Jordanian Publishers Association, the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, and the Greater Amman Municipality.
At the Chinese pavilion, about 300 books in Chinese, English and Arabic are exhibited.
Deputizing for Jordan's King Abdullah II, Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh inaugurated the book fair.
Algerian Minister of Culture and Arts Soraya Mouloudji was present as the "guest of honor."
The two ministers toured the Jordanian official exhibition pavilions and some international pavilions including the Chinese pavilion.
