Two giant pandas arrived in the United States on a flight from China on Tuesday, October 15.

Footage shows the FedEx plane carrying the animals as it lands at the Dulles International Airport in Virginia. The bears were later transferred to the the U.S. National Zoo in Washington, D.C.

China sent the new male and female pandas, named Bao Li and Qing Bao, as part of an agreement announced earlier this year by U.S. and Chinese government officials intended to warm relations between the two superpowers.

The zoo returned three other giant pandas - two adults and their cub - which had been on loan from China.
