This is the moment a family feasted on traditional rural food in northeast Thailand.

Footage shows a variety of dishes laid out on the floor, with women preparing additional food.

The Sen Dolta Festival is a ritual to pay homage to deceased ancestors by the Khmer ethnic group in Thailand. From August 29 to September 1 of the lunar calendar, the Khmer people commemorate the merits of their parents and deceased relatives.

Families clean their houses and altars, offering food to the deceased. On the second day, they invite their ancestors' souls to the temple to listen to the chanting, and on the last day, they offer rice to bid farewell to their grandparents.

The Khmer people also provide food to the monks and items they use daily to worship their ancestors. Ethnic music and dance are performed during the festival as well.
