STORYLINE:

Canadian sportswear giant Lululemon will make its debut at this year's China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is scheduled to be held on Nov. 5-10.

The company's CEO Calvin McDonald said in an interview with Xinhua that they expect to take the opportunity to expand the Chinese market.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): CALVIN MCDONALD, CEO of Lululemon
"We've been in the market for 10 years. We have over 130 stores. We're really excited about being at the CIIE for the first time. As we chart our future growth, it's exciting to have the opportunity to meet a variety of stakeholders, bring awareness to our brand, our growth story, and be part of it."

McDonald also highlighted the digital innovation of consumption scenarios in China, which has opened up multi-channel retail opportunities for businesses.

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): CALVIN MCDONALD, CEO of Lululemon
"The digital innovation here is leading the world, quite frankly, in terms of adoption and opportunities and how it's innovating in driving an omni-retailing experience.
So these are things that we see in the very dynamic and healthy market. We're learning not just how we drive and see success here, but actually how in other markets Lululemon can learn from the Chinese mainland and the guests, the consumers, the innovation and help our business there as well."
