10/25/2024 12:10 am (GMT-0700) | POMONA, Calif. – CHP from the Baldwin Park Area office, LACoFD personnel and Pomona PD responded to a traffic collision on the southbound 71 Freeway at Mission Boulevard in the city of Pomona.
Once officers and firefighters arrived on scene, they located a vehicle that was stuck under a semi-trailer and the driver out of the vehicle with major injuries to the head. The semi-trailer was parked on the right shoulder of the southbound 71 Freeway when the vehicle rear-ended the trailer at high speeds.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the semi was not hurt. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were a factor. CHP had only the right lane closed.
