This is the shocking moment fish escaped from a bag and swam through a freezer when the power went out and items defrosted - including the creatures.

The women discovered seven small fish moving in a puddle of water in the freezer storage during the electricity blackout in Bago, Myanmar, on October 22.

Footage shows the locals laughing at the unexpected sight of the sea creatures freely swimming in the water.

The filmer said: 'We bought the fish fresh from the market earlier for our dinner. We put them straight in the freezer and later the electricity went out.'

As cold-blooded creatures, fish can survive by adjusting their body temperature to match their environment.

Those in the video had been frozen when they were still alive then regained consciousness when they were thawed out. Only a few species of fish have that ability.
