SOUNDBITE 1 (English): ROK CAPL, Head of the Slovenian Business Development Agency SPIRIT
"The first time we've been in CIIE was in 2018 with six companies.
For us, this is one of the many important fairs, not only this time, but also annually, yearly. So we really do our best to attract partners and to start the good partnerships with China.
This year, I'm really glad that every year more and more companies want to be part of this delegation, to be part of exhibitors.
It also gives more strong messages to the Chinese side that we are serious about our cooperation in the future."
Capl highlighted that China is Slovenia's fourth most important trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching 7.65 billion euros (8.26 billion U.S. dollars) in 2023.
He also expressed a keen interest in diversifying markets towards Asia, particularly China.
SOUNDBITE 2 (English): ROK CAPL, Head of the Slovenian Business Development Agency SPIRIT
"When we are speaking about transition, we can see what's happening in automotive sector in mobility. I'm positive that in the future, China will take a main role in this transition. And I think that in the way that Slovenia exports more than 90% of what we produce our services or products, we would like to diversify our markets. And we spread it around and definitely Asia and specific China. We want to strengthen our relationship. "
At this year's CIIE, Slovenian companies will showcase their expertise in automotive, high tech, intellectual industries, information technology, logistics, biotechnology, and more.
